About Carolina House

Situated in the heart of North Carolina, Carolina House offers residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient eating disorder treatment to individuals who are battling anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder, and other related disorders. We seek to treat the whole person and promote the development of strong, life-long emotional and behavioral skills that honor a person’s unique situation.

We utilize an approach to care that values every aspect of our clients’ lives, including their families, communities, cultures, value systems, spiritual traditions, and integration within the larger world. We form relationships with our clients that are founded on dignity and respect, always with an understanding and appreciation of the role that an eating disorder has played in their lives.

Our goal at Carolina House is to provide customized eating disorder treatment to men and women in a safe, home-like, and nurturing environment using a structured, multifaceted treatment approach that is delivered by highly trained and experienced staff.

We believe that every individual has the capacity to live a life fully empowered to make effective choices for optimal physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual health. We believe that men and women can attain freedom from habitual self-defeating behaviors that take the form of disordered eating patterns.

Through treatment with us, we empower you to stop participating in self-destructive behaviors, to cope with complex emotions in healthy and productive ways, to develop a strong sense of self-worth and spirit, and to return to a life of health and vitality.

Our treatment approach is designed to encourage self-exploration so that individuals can experience a transformation into self-nurturing expressions of living. • Expressive art therapy
  • Interpersonal group therapy
  • Body movement therapy
